Alienware Adds Intel 45nm Chip

Alienware added Intel's new 45 nanometer Core 2 Extreme mobile processor XP9000 CPU to its Area 51 m15x notebook this week.

The m15x, released in January, can now take advantage of the new processors improved thermal management and more transistors, the company said.

The Core 2 Extreme mobile processor XP9000 CPU has 6MB of shared L2 cache and an 800MHz front side bus. The processor is now available as par of Alienware's configure-to-order program.
