Audiovox To Offer Low-Cost HD Radio, Internet Radios
By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 7/12/2007
Hauppauge , N.Y. — Audiovox will launch one of the lowest priced HD-Radio car stereo receivers this fall under the Jensen brand and plans to launch a line of home HD Radios and a line of Internet radios next year under the Acoustic Research and Audiovox brands.
The new Jensen car stereo products include two CD receivers with built-in HD-Radio tuners with a starting price at about $150. They are expected to ship to key retailers in mid-September. Both will support multiple formats including SD and USB, and they will be iPod and satellite radio ready, said Jensen.
On the home side, Audiovox said it will show a line of HD Radios including several tabletop models at International CES this January, scheduled to begin shipping shortly after. A line of Internet radios will also be introduced at that time for shipping in the second half of 2008.
