Staff -- TWICE, 6/25/2001

- The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the organizer of International CES, reports that online registration for the 2002 show will begin July 1 at www.CESweb.org.

The show, which will be held Jan. 8 to 11, 2002, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature more than 2,000 international exhibitors and have more than 110,000 attendees from 110 countries, CEA said.

The Convention Center recently topped off construction of its 1.3 million square foot, $150 million South Hall expansion, giving it more than 3.2 million square feet. There will also be exhibit space at the Las Vegas Hilton and the Alexis Park Hotel.

More than 90 percent of exhibit space available has been sold for the 2002 show, said Karen Chupka, CEA events and conferences VP. The show will also feature pavilions on biometrics, wireless data hub, SD card, Sony Memory Stick, and others. More than 100 conference sessions featuring 300 expert speakers will also be held.
