LG, Toshiba Boost HDTV Ad Dollars

By Staff -- TWICE, 5/7/2007

HDTV got a big promotional boost last week with word that LG Electronics and Toshiba have kicked off major marketing campaigns for their lines.

LG's global integrated marketing campaign for "Full HD 1080p" flat-panel TVs will carry the "Don't Just Watch It, Live It" tag line and will have a U.S. budget of $25 million.

The Toshiba effort will feature its REGZA LCD brand and its HD DVD lineup, and star actor Michael Imperioli, of HBO's "The Sopranos." While an exact budget figure was not revealed, it is said to represent "a substantial increase in ad spending over last year."
