Irvine, Calif. — Gateway revamped its high-definition display line this week with the addition of a new 19-inch model.
The FPD1975W is the first of a series of HD widescreen monitors that Gateway will ship this year and in 2007, the company said. The FPD1975W is available immediately from Gateway.com with a $299 street price.
The unit features a High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), which is needed to play HD content through a monitor attached to a computer running Microsoft’s upcoming Vista operating system. HDCP also makes the unit compatible with cable and satellite high-definition services, Gateway said.
