Pocket Raid Portable Storage Unveiled

By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 1/8/2007

Computer accessories maker Norazza will introduce the Pocket Raid portable storage device.

The Pocket Raid is a RAID storage device about the size of a point-and-shoot digital camera . It will come in a variety of capacities ranging from 120GB to 240GB of storage and weighs just less than 2 pounds. The Pocket Raid has two hard drives and connects to a computer via USB 2.0 or eSATA.

The unit makes two copies of all the data and has several safe modes so the data can be retrieved if the drives fail or the unit is dropped and broken.

It is being targeted the small to medium size business community and professionals requiring large amounts of portable storage.

The Pocket Raid will carry a $399 suggested retail price when it ships in January. The company expects it to sell through retail and distribution.
