Lexmark Offers $99 Photo And All-In-One Printers

Lexington, Ky. - Lexmark today conducted its largest consumer product introduction spanning the company's all-in-one and inkjet printer lines.

The introduction consists of six products, including sub-$100 photo printers and an all-in-one printer.

The P700 Photo Jetprinter, suggested retail $99, and its sister, the Z700 Photo Jetprinter, suggested retail $79, are six-color printers with 4,800 by 1,200dpi print resolution, page printing speeds of 17ppm for text and can print a 4-by-6-inch photo in about a minute. It comes bundled with Lexmark's Photo Center software. The P700 adds an on-board flash memory card reader that can handle CompactFlash I and II, Secure Digital, SmartMedia, Memory Stick and Multimedia cards.

The Z600 fills out the printer lineup. It is Lexmark's entry-level model with a $49 suggested retail price and has slightly slower print speeds of 14ppm for text and 8ppm for color.

The new members in Lexmark's all-in-one family are the PrinTrio X1150 and the PrinTrio X6100 Series.

The X1150 combines inkjet printing, copying, scanning and PC faxing with an entry-level suggested price point of $99. The X6100 Series is comprised of the X6150 and X6170. The X6150 combines an inkjet printer, 48-bit scanner, PC-free color copier and dedicated stand-alone fax with an on-board 33.6K modem. Print speeds are 19ppm for text and 15ppm for color, while copying is done at 16 copies per minute for text and 11cpm in color. Its suggested retail price is $199.

The X6170, $249, adds a 50-sheet automatic document feeder.
