Sony Charger Pinpoints Power Needs

By Staff -- TWICE, 5/3/2004

Unnecessary charging time is eliminated with the new Sony Super Quick Charger, model BCG-34HRMD. This is due to the charger's LCD battery indicator, which allows for ease of checking the charge and refresh status of the batteries.

The refresh function eliminates the memory effect left over by a battery and renews the original usable time of the cell.

The Sony charger, which will be available in June, can charge up to four AA or AAA nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries.

Charger features include an automatic charge cutoff, alkaline battery detection and built-in temperature control, which provides optimum safety and performance, said the company.

The charger package comes with four high capacity AA 2300mAh NiMH rechargeable cells, said to last four times longer than alkaline batteries in such high-drain devices as digital cameras.

Suggested retail is $39.99.
