Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG Electronics said its LG BD300 Network Blu-ray Disc player will receive an upgrade to the Netflix high-definition instant-streaming capability in early December.
The LG BD300, was the first Blu-ray Disc player to feature the built-in capability for Netflix instant-streaming service in standard definition. It will be joined by Blu-ray Disc players from Samsung and the Xbox 360 in gaining access to HD instant streaming, when the firmware upgrades are delivered this month.
“LG is proud to offer Netflix HD Instant Streaming for the BD300. As the first manufacturer to offer instant streaming on a Blu-ray player, LG continues to expand entertainment options for consumers as high-definition streaming and other online video content grow in the months and years ahead,” stated Allan Jason, LG Electronics digital media VP.
