Sharp, NBC Ink AQUOS Promo Deal

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/5/2005

Sharp Electronics said it has reached a five-year deal with NBC Universal making Sharp AQUOS the official high-definition television of the NBC Experience Store in Rockefeller Plaza.

More than 150 Sharp AQUOS LCD TVs have been installed throughout the store and selected areas of the NBC Studio Tour. Among the models is the 65W-inch AQUOS flagship, which will serve as the centerpiece of the showcase, in a dedicated Sharp window on 49th Street and in the main Rockefeller Plaza entrance.

In addition to the store, AQUOS models will be placed in the windows outside the “Today” studios that face Rockefeller Center, and throughout Studio 8H, where “Saturday Night Live” is produced.

The NBC Universal partnership is part of the second phase of Sharp's “More to See” brand campaign, Sharp said.

AQUOS sets inside the Experience Store will play a variety of NBC Universal's HD programming, including “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night With Conan O'Brien” and “Saturday Night Live.”
