Mahwah, N.J. — Panasonic, Sharp and Toshiba said they will join a nationwide recycling initiative designed to give purchasers of each companies' products the ability to have those items recycled at a growing list of collection centers around the county.

In response to: All Eyes Are On Circuit City, Tweeter: Bob Smith: "Why can't Circuit City and Tweeter get a government bailout. Everyone else is."
Tweeter sales associate: "I am a Tweeter employee and just heard the news today. Our distribution centers are being shut down and tomorrow morning we are expecting huge shipments of inventory to arrive at our stores. And as you stated, corporate management is still communicating with us as if everything is fine, but on the store level no one is buying it."

My first post for TWICE and I don't think I can get by without first addressing the state of the global economy. I seem to recall the above headline (or something close to it) being used in a well-publicized presidential debate many years ago. Given the current economic climate with this year's election coming up, the campaign line seems even more relevant today.
