Verbatim Offers Inkjet-Printable Digital Vinyl CD-Rs

By Staff -- TWICE, 9/1/2003

Verbatim, maker of Digital Vinyl CD-Rs, is introducing a new inkjet-printable version in convenient 50-disc spindles.

Like the original discs, these 80 min./700MB CDs combine reliability and high performance with the look of 45-rpm records of the '50s, '60s and '70s, and come complete with vinyl-like grooves.

In addition, the Inkjet Printable Digital Vinyl CD-Rs have a coated label area compatible for printing using inkjet CD printers.

The new, retro-look CDs can be used by consumers to put the fun into recording and sharing personal music mixes, photo albums and home videos. Or, these can be used to convert old, analog LP records to premium quality digital media that won't degrade or lose sound flexibility when the discs are played.

Street price for 50-pack spindles is $49.99.

Verbatim reports the successful rollout of its Digital Vinyl CD-R discs — to which the inkjet-printable version has been added — stating these have become a hit with baby boomers who are nostalgic about their vinyl collections and consumers who want an eye-catching storage solution for their audio, video and data files.

Digital Vinyl media is available in single and multiple disc packages, with street prices at $1.49 for a single disc and $12.99 for a 10 pack.
