Electronics Boutique Revises Q4 Earnings, Comps

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/9/2003

Video game hardware, software and PC entertainment software and accessories retailer Electronics Boutique has revised downward its fourth quarter earnings guidance.

The new estimate is the result of a projected fourth quarter comp-store sales decrease ranging from 5 percent to 9 percent, down from the previously expected comp-store sales increase of 8 percent to 12 percent. The company blamed the decrease primarily on the general economic climate, compounded by the impact of the shorter holiday shopping season. However, even with the downturn, Electronics Boutique reaffirmed that growth prospects remain strong for the video game industry.
