Gateway Offers Data Migration Kit

Poway, Calif. - Gateway will start shipping its Data Migration Suite starting on April 1.

The bundle contains the hardware, USB and parallel port cables, and the software necessary for moving files from an old PC into a newly purchased model. The software will move all the old data into the proper place on the new computer at a rate of 500MB per 12 minutes. The software also transfers the user’s personal settings to the new computer. As it does so, it wipes the old hard drive clean so it can be disposed of without any danger of the data getting into the wrong hands.

It will carry a $59 suggested retail price.
