By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 2/6/2007

City of Industry, Calif. — Digital camera manufacturer DXG said it will ship a new flash-based video recorder this month.

The 5-megapixel 506V will be available in blue, pink, black and silver. It records VGA resolution MPEG-4 video at 30 frames per second (fps) to 32MB of internal memory or SD cards. Still images can be interpolated up to 12-megapixels.

It features a 1.7-inch flip out LCD screen, built-in flash and macro mode.

In addition to recording video and stills, the 506V can playback MP3 audio files and serve as a Web camera or voice recorder.

The DXG 506V will retail for a suggested $149.
