Milpitas, Calif. — SanDisk’s new series of Fuze video-enabled MP3 players, positioned between the wearable music-only Clip and video-enabled View series, will be available early April in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB versions at suggested retails of $79, $99 and $129, respectively.

The 2GB Fuze will be available in black, and the 4GB Fuze will be available in black, red, pink or blue. The 8GB version ships in silver.

The Fuze series features MPEG-4 video playback and 1.9-inch screens enabling video viewing in landscape mode, whereas the 8GB and 16GB Sansa Views, with respective suggested retails of $164 and $219, feature 2.4-inch screens and native playback of H.264, WMV and MPEG-4 video.

The Sansa Fuze series features MPEG-4 video playback and 1.9-inch screen.

The Fuze features include JPEG photo viewer, FM radio, Audible-format audio-book playback, voice recorder, microSD/microSDHC card slot for up to an additional 8GB of storage, and playback of MP3, WAV and protected-WMA music files. Its internal rechargeable battery will play up to 24 hours of audio and five hours of video between charges.

Sansa View models also feature photo viewer, FM radio, Audible audio-book playback and microSD/microSDHC card slot.

The Fuzes are expected to be available from retailers in Canada and Europe in late spring, with other regions of the world to follow.
