Monster Cable Ties Product To PlayStation2

BRISBANE, CALIF. -Cable manufacturer Monster Cable Products has formed a division called Monster Game, which is focused on creating a line of premium gaming accessories customized for the PlayStation2 Computer Entertainment System.

The Monster Game fall product release had been timed to coincide with the release of the first PlayStation2s in the United States.

Monster Game's product lineup includes:

  • GameLink 200 A/V cable with composite video features, which offers 24K gold connectors, 8-cut Turbine RCAs and a "cool" industrial design. Cables come in 8- and 15-foot lengths and have suggested retails of $29.95 and $39.95, respectively.

  • GameLink 300 S-Video A/V cable that goes beyond GameLink 200 to offer sharper, more crisp video than the standard composite cable. These also come in 8- and 15-foot lengths for suggested $34.95 and $49.95 retails.

  • GameLink 400 Component Video cable offers the highest quality connection for a $49.95 suggested retail.

  • Lightwave 100 Fiber Optic audio connection, a precision fiber-optic connector that minimizes distortion and provides crystal-clear highs and powerful articulate bass, the company said. Suggested retail is $29.95.

  • And PowerStation 600, which features six color-coded outlets specifically for a home entertainment center. With 700 joules of surge protection, it retails for a suggested $24.95.
