Maxell Offers Color DVD Media

Fair Lawn, N.J. — Maxell Corporation of America has extended its line of recordable DVD media, introducing DVD-R and DVD+R discs in five new colors earlier this year.
The color DVD discs, available in a 10-pack, are sold in bright orange, teal and pink, and lime green and midnight blue. Suggested retail was not set at press time.
The new DVD line features a bold packaging design that highlights format information, making product selection easier.
Central to the packaging design is a hierarchy that emphasizes brand, DVD format, capacity and writing speed, said Maxell. The design strategy is further enhanced by a color system intended to make format selection easy, while providing a family-look that supports the overall brand communication.
On the back of the new packaging, Maxell has designed a comprehensive icon-based information panel that features descriptions of recording and playback compatibility, along with graphs depicting video recording times in various playback modes and hardware compatibility.
The back panel also highlights the company's live toll-free tech support hotline.
