Kensington Debuts iPod Charger And Battery Pack

REDWOOD SHORES, CALIF. — Kensington Computer Products Group announced earlier this month the release of its battery pack and charger for iPhone and iPod.
The product also comes in a smaller version, known as the Mini battery pack and charger.
Both rechargeable versions are designed to power and charge an iPhone or iPod. Kensington said it is offering two models because they are geared toward two different types of users. "The standard model is the perfect traveling companion for heavy-duty power needs while the Mini is designed for users to easily carry with them on a daily basis," said the company.
An iPod or iPhone's play time is reportedly extended by up to 100 hours of music, 21 hours of video and six hours of talktime with the standard model, while the Mini charger extends play time up to 30 hours of music, six hours of video and three hours of talktime.
Features include an AC power adapter with USB, a dock connector, and a battery-status indicator. The Mini measures 2.37 inches by 2.5 inches by 0.37 inches, and weighs 1.5 ounces, while the standard model measures 4 by 2 by 0.37 inches, and weighs 3.52 ounces.
Both models are compatible with iPhones, Nanos and iPods with video.
The standard model has a $69.99 suggested retail, with the Mini carrying a $49.99 price. They are currently available through Amazon.com and are scheduled to be available in retailers at the end of the month.
