Allsop Disc Portfolios Stress Fashion, Convenience

Staff -- TWICE, 2/21/2005

Allsop is offering a new series of CD portfolios designed to appeal to fashion conscious consumers. Available in three styles, the product is built for users who are not satisfied with a CD wallet, but are looking for utility and fashion.

The portfolio, which looks like something between a briefcase and PDA case, offers 16-disc capacity and is not designed to serve the needs of large CD music collections.

Allsop is gearing the product toward portability of DVDs, CD-ROMs and photo discs, and is moving away from a 15- to 25-year-old demographic.

The CD portfolios hold discs in soft, but durable, plastic sleeves. The sturdy construction of the case and strap protects the discs, and the faux leather, metal or wood coverings help to fit the case into a consumer's environment, said Allsop.

The faux leather black CD portfolio had availability in January at $14.99 suggested retail. Additional designs will be available in late winter 2005.
