By Steve Smith -- TWICE, 1/5/2009
Secaucus, N.J. — Bob Perry has been named executive VP of Panasonic Consumer Electronics with responsibility for sales, marketing and product merchandising.
In his new position Perry will report directly to Shiro Kitajima, president of Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
Until now, Perry served as the company's senior VP responsible for Viera plasma and LCD product merchandising.
"Since joining Panasonic last year, Bob has done an outstanding job in revitalizing our Viera product line, merchandising and stepping up our strategic approach to the market," Kitajima said in a prepared statement.
“I expect that, with his expanded role within Panasonic, Bob will now be able to contribute his leadership to achieving further growth and development in all of our digital products categories."
Perry joined Panasonic last January. In his career in the CE industry he has chaired the Consumer Electronics Association’s video committee and served with Sharp, Mitsubishi, LG and Logitech.
