Las Vegas — Nikon announced a new touch-screen Coolpix digital camera at International CES, here.
The 10-megapixel Coolpix S60 features a 5x optical zoom lens with optical stabilization, ISO 3,200 and a 3.5-inch touch-screen LCD that lets users lock focus by touching the subject on the display. It includes a new portrait one-touch zoom feature which automatically zooms and frames a subject for a portrait shot.
Users can scroll through images via the touch screen, or use an included stylus for navigating the menu. Consumers can use the stylus to draw or write on images or use a paint function to further decorate their pictures.
The S60 offers HDMI connectivity and a new HD Pictmotion slideshow function for playing back images on HDTVs. A new scene auto-selector mode automatically chooses an appropriate scene mode to match shooting conditions, while a smile mode will release the shutter when a subject smiles.
The S60 also includes a blink warning, which kicks on after a photo has been taken if a subject’s eyes were closed.
It will be sold in red, black, white, burgundy, pink and bronze for $299.
