Bose Adapts For Custom
Framingham, Mass. - Bose unveiled custom-install versions of its DVD-equipped Lifestyle systems, each with ADAPTiQ technology to compensate for the sonic effects of a room's acoustics.

Parasound Targets Custom
San Francisco - For custom installers, Parasound added RS-232 to its Halo T3 AM/FM tuner, and the company launched in-ceiling speakers that accept a stereo input.

ReQuest Goes Video
Ballston Spa, N.Y. - ReQuest, the audio-server supplier, launched its first video product, the $2,500 Video ReQuest VRQ-1 DVD-management system, which controls up to four Sony 400-disc DVD changers via RS-232. Users can create a four-zone distributed-video system by linking four centrally located changers to four VRQ-1 units, each located in a different room.

Xabler Focus: IP A/V
Provo, Utah - Xabler upgraded its Digital Music Server from one zone to unlimited multiple zones. The Ethernet-connected, IP-controllable system costs $1,829 for a single-zone version, but additional zones can now be added at $550 per zone, the company said. The server contains a CD ripper.The company also launched a Video Security System that accepts four analog security cameras and an unlimited number of IP/Ethernet cameras, whose video can be stored on its hard drive (or on other hard drives). Price with hard drive is less than $2,000. Both devices can be controlled from any Web-browsing device.
