PC Game Software Enjoy Strong Sales

By Staff -- TWICE, 9/2/2002

PC games sold particularly well in late July and early August with game titles comprising half of NPDTechworld's Top Selling Software list.

For the week of July 28 through Aug. 3 "Warcraft III: Reign of Terror" swapped the top spot with Norton Antivirus 2002 8.0 as the best selling title during this period. The other top selling games were "Neverwinter Nights," "The Sims: Vacation Expansion Pack," "The Sims" and "Grand Theft Auto 3." Microsoft's Windows XP Home Edition upgrade and Office XP Student and Teacher edition along with Norton SystemWorks 2002 5.0 and VirusScan 6.0 filled out the remainder of NPDTechworld's list.

Other titles that made an appearance during the two previous weeks were "Backyard Baseball 2003" and Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum.
