CinemaNow Reaches Xbox 360

Marina Del Rey, Calif. — Online movie service CinemaNow said it has released an upgraded version of its Media Manager software which will enable users of networked Xbox 360 video game consoles to download and play back video titles on their television sets.
CinemaNow also said its Burn-to-DVD service is now compatible with Windows Vista PC users.
The movie service said the upgrades, “mark CinemaNow’s latest effort to ensure that content purchased through the site can be viewed on multiple platforms - from PCs to portable devices to TVs.”
A spokesperson said the service may also add similar capability for networked PlayStation3 owners and other networked video devices in the future.
“CinemaNow is on a mission to enable simple and fast integration into our customers’ lives,” stated Curt Marvis, CinemaNow CEO. “This upgrade alone makes our entire library of more than 7,000 videos available to the millions of Xbox users who are downloading movies online and watching them on their TVs.”
Media Manager software will automatically download to a user’s Windows XP or Vista PC when a video is rented or purchased. A customer can choose any video from CinemaNow’s selection, download it to the PC and play it back on a TV using a network-connected Xbox 360.
The new Media Manager also makes CinemaNow’s exclusive Burn-to-DVD service available to Windows Vista users, so that they can choose select movies to burn a video to a DVD for playback in a standard DVD player.
A wide selection of movies and television shows are offered by the service in “near DVD” resolution.
