MERA Offers Help To Stores In Flooded States

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 6/19/2008

Indianapolis — The Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association (MERA) is offering a helping hand to dealers affected by floods in the Midwest.

MERA has issued an invitation to any car stereo shop affected by the flooding in Iowa, Illinois and southern Indiana to contact Jim Montoya, MERA’s executive director, at jmontoya@merausa.org for assistance.

“Unfortunately, some of our fellow members have suffered losses in the floods. Not only have stores been flooded — business has been affected. Even if a 12-volt audio store has not been damaged in a flooded area, it's tough to sell car audio equipment and services when people are trying to save their homes,” Montoya said.

He continued, “MERA and its members may be limited in providing help to those members that have been affected. However, we invite people to let us know if there is anything that MERA may be able to do.”

Montoya may also be reached at (317) 328-4623.
