HANNspree Makes CEDIA Debut

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 9/5/2005

HANNspree California, the startup manufacturer of flamboyantly styled LCD TVs, will make its CEDIA Expo debut this week with an extensive line of design-centric models.

“CEDIA is a natural for HANNspree,” said Rick Calacci, HANNspree Americas' sales and marketing senior VP. “The design-driven, personalized nature of our products gives installers the opportunity to offer their clients something far above and beyond the ordinary — one-of-a-kind TVs that are unlike anything they've ever imagined.”

Calacci said the unique designs and competitive prices of the HANNspree TVs offer “tremendous potential as add-on sales that can provide installers with significant profits as well.”

The recently launched HANNspree line is targeting a diverse range of retail channel partners. At the show, the company will demonstrate its full line of more than 100 LCD TVs, ranging in screen sizes from 9.6 inches to 23 inches. Suggested retail prices run from $449 to $1,399.

HANNspree will use CEDIA to celebrate the finalization of a U.S. licensing agreement with Disney. The company will present seven new Disney-themed models called Coach, Pooh Picnic, Pooh Smile, Helmet, Doggy, Chic and Retro Mickey. HANNspree also has licensing agreements with the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball.

All HANNspree models feature colorful 360-degree frames, along with base designs decorated with a wide variety of themes.

HANNspree's strategy is to develop TVs that appeal to the individuality and interests of every consumer.

One TV, for example, echoes the classic, sophisticated wooden lines of a cello, while others use hand-stitched leather to replicate the look and feel of a baseball, or incorporate child-friendly fabrics in animal-shaped TVs.

All sets utilize high-performance features and high-quality LCD screens developed in-house and in association with industrial leaders.
