Remote Technologies Bows A System Controller Trio

By Staff -- TWICE, 8/22/2005

Newest introductions from Remote Technologies include three new remotes.

The entry-level RTI U1 waterproof universal system controller provides a rugged interface option for communicating with RTI remote control processors. Designed for “reliable” wireless control of audio/video systems from environments which are too harsh for normal remote controls, the U1 is completely sealed, making it both waterproof and able to float.

At a suggested $299 retail the U1 is said to be the “perfect companion” for hot tubs, pools, bathrooms and decks. Availability had been scheduled for July.

Remote Technologies' RTI T3 is a universal system controller that offers a 3.5-inch back-lighted touch screen and 16 hard buttons said to bring powerful and comfortable system control to any hand.

The T3, at a suggested $1,199 retail, is fully programmable and macro-assignable. It features a 32-bit XScale processor, 32MB non-volatile flash memory, IR/RF transmission and automatic LCD illumination. Availability had been set for the end of May.

Top-of-the-line RTI K4 in-wall universal system controller is the first stand-alone color touch panel with infrared control, video monitoring and Ethernet connectivity, said Remote Technoogies. A 6.4-inch LCD touch screen displays video streams full-screen or in adjustable windows.

With accessories, the K 4 is capable of infrared routing, relay control, power sensing and RS-232 communication. Suggested retail is $2,499, and availability is scheduled for the third quarter.
