Ingram Micro Expands Reseller Services Portal

By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 8/21/2007

Santa Ana, Calif. — Fujitsu, Eastman Kodak and ADTRAN have joined Ingram Micro’s Reseller Services Portal, powered by MaintenanceNet.

Through the portal, all three companies will offer “timely services renewal opportunities,” said Ingram Micro.

The company said Fujitsu will also use the portal to manage product registration and ADTRAN will introduce a “service lookup utility tool” to allow partners to search for a hardware product or part number and then see a list of compatible services, a tool that is expected to expedite service quotes and transactions as well as provide pricing, SKU information and quarterly updates on service offerings.

“In under a year, the Reseller Services Portal has earned the business of several leading IT manufacturers and over 2,200 solution providers by managing and uncovering millions of dollars of untapped services revenue opportunities,” said Justin Crotty, services VP, Ingram Micro North America. “The addition of Fujitsu, Kodak and ADTRAN to the Ingram Micro RSP not only renders an obvious services opportunity, but it forges a stronger alignment between the business goals and needs of these manufacturers and their solution provider partners. This level of engagement and enablement is what will really drive success for the RSP and its members long-term.”

The online services tool is available free to Ingram Micro solution providers in the United States.

In other Ingram Micro news, the company recently expanded its relationship with Panasonic and it is now authorized to sell the Panasonic’s full line of Toughbook mobile computers to channel partners servicing the U.S. Federal Government. Ingram Micro had already been selling the notebooks to solution providers in other channels focused on education, local, state and commercial categories since 2004. As a result of the expanded partnership, Ingram Micro is now licensed to sell Panasonic’s complete portfolio of notebooks to all qualified solution providers in the United States and Canada.
