Phoenix Gold Debuts HDMI Cables, Car Amp During CES

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/8/2007

Phoenix Gold is introducing HDMI cables and its Ryval car audio line during CES at booth 1031 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The HDMX.900 CL3-rated cables feature 1,080i and 1,080p specifications and are available in multiple lengths for added flexibility, the firm said.

"The high-definition accessories category needed to be addressed in connection to the CI and consumer markets," explained Tim Leahy, Phoenix Gold marketing director. "Longer HD cable runs snaked through walls has been a problem faced by many installers, and Phoenix Gold has come up with the answer with our updated line of 1,080i and 1,080p HDMI cables."

Phoenix Gold now offers HDMI cable for 1,080p standards. The 900 series' 3-meter and 5-meter options are approved for 1,080p standards, with a 7.5-meter 1,080p option planned for early in 2007 as well as designs to offer a repeater (suggested retail of $89.00) that will pass 1,080p standards up to 25 meters (82.2 ft).

The repeater can be added to the 9-meter and 15-meter HDMI cables to guarantee 1,080p broadcast. Plans are also in the works to add a 20-meter (65.62 ft) and 25-meter cable packaged with the repeater, which will also be 1,080p approved.

Phoenix Gold is also showcasing a new HDMI interconnect featuring an HDMI 1.3 C-type mini connector to a standard A-type HDMI connector. The new cable will be available early this year in time for the release of the new high-definition camcorders. The cables, which are offered in 1-meter, 2-meter and 3-meter lengths, will also work on the soon-to-be-released Sony PlayStation3 gaming system.

Pricing for the Phoenix Gold HDMX.900 CL3-rated HDMI cables are to be decided, and the company said that due to continual product improvement, all specifications are subject to change without notice.

In its Ryval subwoofer and speaker series for car audio, the subwoofers will be available in 10-inch and 12-inch models, and the speaker series will be available in component and coaxial configurations. The series is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2007.

Gold will also feature its new Ryval amplifier series here. The new Ryval Series will be available in mono, two-channel and four-channel configurations, with shipping scheduled for the first quarter of this year.

Common features of Phoenix Gold's Ryval amplifier series include a three-position pass switch, auxiliary outputs, speaker level inputs and an extruded aluminum heat sink.
