Car Toys Joins PRO Group

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 5/18/2006

Seattle — Car Toys, the 52-store mobile electronics chain, has joined the Progressive Retailers Organization (PRO Group) as the 17th member of the specialty A/V buying group.

“I know I speak for all of our members in stating how excited we are to welcome Car Toys to the PRO buying group,” said executive director Dave Workman. “With the addition of Car Toys, PRO Group now represents the largest combined volume of independent retailers in the mobile electronics industry.”

Workman described Car Toys’ founder/CEO Dan Brettler and Dan Jeancola, merchandising senior VP, as “two of the most respected individuals in the mobile electronics and wireless business, and I look forward to working closely with them to create new programs and benefits for all of our membership.”

“It is an honor for us to have the opportunity to join the PRO buying group. For many years, the group has had an outstanding reputation and a strong commitment to the specialty retail channel. We look forward to partnering with the other group members,” added Brettler.

Car Toys ranked 60th on TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers report, based on CE sales of $147 million last year.
