Antec Cooler Solves Laptop Heat Problems By Fan Use

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/19/2004

Heat is conducted away from laptops by the Antec Notebook Cooler, solving the problem of overheating, thus maintaining laptop stability and reducing heat-related system crashes.

The aluminum surface on the cooler helps take heat away from the laptop when two fans draw cool air in and exhaust hot air out, allowing laptops to run better and last longer.

The cooling unit, which comes in two colors, black and pearl, is Mac and PC compatible, and draws power from any USB port without losing use of the port. A pass-through connector is included. It has two fans, low power consumption, an aluminum surface and doesn't need batteries or power adapters. The cooler's slim, lightweight design makes it easily transportable, said Antec.

Suggested retail is $39.95. Both black and pearl units currently are available.

Antec has also introduced the Hard Drive Cooler, designed to protect hard drives from serious heat damage. The unit features a dual heatsink/fan combination that ensures a quiet dissipation of heat generated from the hard drive. Suggested retail is $29.95.
