Rayovac/Sanyo Developing Battery

By Staff -- TWICE, 5/17/2004

Battery makers Rayovac and Sanyo have teamed to expand the presence of rapid-charging batteries, with expectations to capitalize on the established strengths of both companies.

Rayovac, based here, and San Diego-based Sanyo Mobile Energy have entered into a technology and manufacturing agreement to develop additional applications and markets for the next generation of Rayovac's I-C3 technology for nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries.

Under the agreement, Sanyo's re-search/development group will further refine/develop I-C3 technology.

Sanyo also will manufacture the new advanced rechargeable batteries for Rayovac.
