Targus Debuts Defcon Notebook Locks

Anaheim, Calif. — Targus announced its Defcon 1 retractable cable lock for notebook computers. The lock includes a galvanized steel cable and a lock slot adapter, which is designed to secure notebooks or other belongings to any stationary object in a public places. For additional security, Targus' new lock features a four-digit combination-lock that allows for over 10,000 different codes. Users can reset the combination at any time to ensure security.

It has a suggested retail of $24.99 and includes a limited one-year warranty. In addition to the retractable cable lock, Targus also carries the Defcon 1 Ultra, which is designed to help secure notebooks with a steel cable, motion sensor and audible alarm. The Defcon 1 Ultra has a suggested retail of $49.99 and includes a limited one-year warranty.

Body Glove Rolls Out iPod Case With Kickstand

Tasca, Ill. — Body Glove Technology Accessories, a division of Fellowes, announced the launch of its newest case for the fifth-generation iPods. The case features a kickstand is designed to fit the 30GB, 60GB and 80GB iPods and provide hands-free viewing.

The kickstand is built into a belt clip, and the case also features a removable knob, allowing it to lay flat when the clip is not in use.

Constructed of the company's Ion material, a synthetic fabric that conforms to the shape of the iPod for a glove-like fit, the water-resistant case includes custom cutouts for access to ports, buttons and the iPod click wheel. The case carries a suggested retail of $19.64.

GN Introduces Jabra USB Headset

Copenhagen, Denmark — GN unveiled its Jabra GN2000 USB headset yesterday and announced its full compatibility with Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.

The Jabra GN2000 USB headset is designed to deliver high audio quality and true wideband audio. With a full frequency response up to 6,800Hz, it reportedly delivers VoIP audio quality and has plug-and-play capabilities.

It offers pivoting foam ear cushions that automatically adjust to the shape and angle of a user's ears, and the ear cushions are designed to provide excellent acoustical coupling and deliver a richer incoming signal. Additional features include in-line controls for answering calls and adjusting the volume.
