VTech Adds Bluetooth to ’09 DECT Line

By staff -- TWICE, 1/26/2009

VTech will integrate Bluetooth and push-to-talk functionality into its DECT cordless lineup for the first time in 2009.

The company pulled back the curtain on its 2009 lineup during International CES. The products are due to ship in the first half of 2009.

The LS6245 features touch-sensitive buttons and Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with a mobile phone. Consumers can simultaneously make cellular calls on one handset while placing landline calls on another. The phone is expandable to 12 handsets and features caller ID/call waiting, handset and base station speakerphone, a 100-name/number directory, a 13-minute ITAD and will ship in July for $79.95.

Under its VMix line of youth-oriented phones, the LS6217 ($34.95) features three interchangeable handset and base plates in blue, silver and orange. Consumers can further personalize it via online templates they can print out at home. It offers caller ID/call waiting, handset speakerphone and a 50-name/number directory. It ships in April.

The V.Style LS6215 will also incorporate touch-panel functionality, 12 handset expandability, selectable ring tones, caller ID and a handset speakerphone. It ships in April for $44.95. A two handset SKU will retail for $59.95 and offer handset-to-handset intercom and call transfer.

The $54.95 LS6225 builds of the LS6215 with an ITAD. A two-handset version will retail for $69.95, while a three-handset bundle will cost $89.95.

Under the AT&T brand, VTech’s Advanced American Telephones division will introduce several DECT products geared toward both business and home users.

The four-line SB67118 ($499) features a corded base station and push-to-talk functionality. It is expandable to up to 10 handsets (the SB7108, $99) and unlike standard DECT systems, supports the simultaneous use of all 10, the company said. Accessory repeaters can extend the range of the handsets to up to 900 meters from the base.

Additional features include auto-attendant voicemail, dial-in base speakerphone, and three-party conferencing.

The CL82209, for $59.95, is expandable to up to 12 handsets with call conferencing, any-key answer, selectable ringtones and a 14-minute ITAD.

For the home, the CL84109 is a corded/cordless system with a 14-minute ITAD and 12-handset expandability with up to five handsets active simultaneously during a single call. It offers handset speakerphone and intercom, and will retail for $69.95.
