WD Intros Pro Hard Drive Line

Lake Forest, Calif. — Western Digital introduced the My Book Pro Edition external hard drive this week.

The line is available in 250GB and 500GB capacities with $219 and $349 respective suggested retail prices and is targeted at the small office market. Each has USB 2.0, Firewire 800 and Firewire 400 connectivity and come bundled with Retrospect Express backup and system recovery software. The book-sized, silver-colored chassis is well-vented and has an internal fan to reduce internal temperature and extend the device’s life.
