Altec Lansing Headphone Lineup Debuts

Altec Lansing is offering 10 new headphones — namely ear phone, over-the-head, ear clip, behind-the-neck and active noise-reduction models.

The lineup is spearheaded by model AHP612 wireless headphone system, a 900MHz model. It offers large 40mm drivers and has a wide frequency response 150-foot range. The product is a closed ear-cup design, has a self-adjusted deluxe padded headband, and offers a headphone base that automatically recharges nickel metal-hydride batteries that deliver up to eight hours of listening time. Suggested retail is $149.95.

Headphones in the line include the AHP625 over-the-head studio that offers SRS simulated surround sound and comes with a carrying bag for a suggested $79,94; AHP524 over-the-head light studio that offers DJ-style monitoring capability for $49.95; AHP423 behind-the-neck sports, which is foldable and comes with two extra foam pads in different colors and a carry bag for $29.95; and AHP322 over-the-head that comes with a relaxed fit, two extra foam pads in different colors and a carry bag for $19.95.

Altec Lansing's line also includes model AHP227, an ear clip that offers comfortable audio with personalization via extra colored ear pads for $14.95; AHP223 behind-the-neck complete with extra foam pads in different colors for $14.95; AHP122 over-the-head lightweight design for sporting activities at $9.95; and AHP121 ear buds and durable metal chassis with comfort-fit ear pads for $9.95.

Scheduled for late summer shipment is the company's AHP812 high-end noise-cancellation headphone system said to be perfect for blocking out unwanted noise in any location. Suggested retail is $199.95.
