Merkury Innovations Intros 1-Hour Rapid Charger

New York — Targus Digital by Merkury Innovations is introducing the universal lithium-ion rapid charger, model TG-LCUV, a unit that includes four different charging plates that power up over 200 different batteries. Most batteries are charged in about one hour.

The Targus-brand charger, which is compatible with all major battery brands, including Sony, Canon, Minolta, Nikon and Kodak, can refuel most 3.6-volt and 7.2 -volt digital and video camera lithium-ion cells. The unit includes an AA charging plate to recharge AA nickel-metal hydride cells, and provides overcharge protection, time protection and abnormal battery protection.

The charger offers automatic voltage detection and precision end-of-charge detection, and guarantees a full charge. It includes an AC adapter, 12-volt DC car adapter and interchangeable adapter plates. An LCD display indicates charging status, identifies batteries and stops charging. Suggested retail is $49.99, and availability is mid-May.
