Garmin Teams With Mad Maps

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 10/29/2007

Olathe, Kan. — Garmin announced it has partnered with Mad Maps, which offers scenic road-trip routes.

Beginning in December, Garmin will offer three regional scenic-tour map packages for download at prices between $6.99 and $11.99 per map. These may be downloaded to a Garmin Nuvi or Zumo personal navigation device.

Mad Maps claims its maps identify scenic trails and provide detailed information on those routes, including “funky, quirky and fascinating places to visit,” said founder Jenny Lefferts.

The partnership was announced prior to the opening day of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, which runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2.
