Sony Upgrades Screenblast Titles

CULVER CITY, CALIF. — Sony has started shipping new versions of its Screenblast digital media software.

The new Screenblast Movie Studio will ship in September with a $99 suggested retail price, just after the release of Screenblast ACID 4.0 (formerly called Screenblast Music Studio). This will hit stores in August with a $69.95 suggested retail price.

The primary addition to Movie Studio is DVD authoring software, professional-level DVD menu templates and embedded MPEG licenses. ACID 4.0 adds the ability to export the music creations to a Sony NeetMD player or Clie handheld computer.

As an added benefit, purchasers will receive a one-month free subscription to Sony's online Screenblaster.com service.
