Home Control, Too

By Rebecca DayStaff -- TWICE, 1/21/2002

On the home-system control side at CES, Home Automation Inc. introduced the OmniPro II, the company's flagship home control system that coordinates operation of a home's lights, heating as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

OmniPro II, designed for large homes and commercial facilities, adds to the previous version with an Ethernet port that lets homeowners operate the system from any PC-enabled product in the home, including standard PCs, Web tablets or future Internet appliances. The professionally installed system will typically price out from $5,000-$10,000 depending on the number of control points.

The company's Web Link product will let consumers control the system from any off-site PC with an Internet connection. The system ships in January.
