Motorola Ships 802.11g Products

Motorola introduced three new 802.11g networking products for desktop and notebook computers.

The products are the WN825G notebook adapter, WPCI810G PCI adapter and the WR850G broadband router. All have started shipping to a limited number of retailers, with broader distribution to begin in November.

The WN825G supports the 802.11g wireless networking specification with a 54MBps data transfer speed. It can automatically detect networks and features WiFi Protected Access with Temporal Key Integrity Protocol for network security. The card has a $79 suggested retail price.

The WPCI810G has the same features and price.

The broadband router, $149 suggested retail price, supports wired and wireless networking, cable and DSL Internet connectivity and the same encryption capability as the adapter cards.
