HANNSpree Expands Flat TV Lines

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 1/8/2007

HANNSpree California (Renaissance Hotel, Capital Ballroom) is unveiling during CES, here, additions to its Xv line of LCD TVs with 1,080p resolution, larger screen sizes in the HANNS G IT PC monitor line and a line of hybrid PC/TV monitors in the new HANNSpree XM Series.

Highlighting the TV offerings will be the debut of the next models in the recently shipped Xv line of full HD 1,080p big-screen LCD TVs.

Many of the new offerings in the HANNSpree Xv series will feature more understated conventionally styled models with gloss black frames, bigger flat-panel screen sizes and value price points, according to the company.

The 42W-inch JT03-42U1-000G ($1,899.99 suggested retail) is positioned as a "budget friendly" high-performance 1,080p HD LCD TV with gloss black and gray cosmetics.

Staying with the concept is the slightly smaller 37W-inch JT02-37U1-000G ($1,499.99). Also featured from the series is the JT01-32U1-000G ($1,199.99) 32W-inch Xv series high-definition LCD TV featuring a design stressing "understated high-tech elegance" for placement in living rooms, bedrooms or dorms.

For the more exotic designs that the company is know for, HANNSpree will bring its popular Fire Truck cosmetic, made famous in smaller screen sets, to its Designer Series in a limited edition 42W-inch high-definition model called the HANNSFire.truck.

All Designer Series TVs feature the individualistic styling and 360-degree designs that are found in the company's smaller screen-size offerings, the company said.

Meanwhile, HANNSpree will unveil its new XM hybrid flat-panel monitor series, which ships in January. The line features LCDs that can serve dual duty as TVs or PC monitors, but omit built-in TV tuners. All models in the series will feature advanced design-driven cosmetics offering "an attractive new alternative to conventional PC display solutions," the company said.

"Our new XM line of uniquely styled elegant monitors reflects our commitment to changing people's perceptions about how computer monitors are supposed to look and function," said Michael Amkreutz, HANNSpree marketing and product planning VP.

In the core HANNS G IT monitor line, introduced last year, the company will show new 22W-inch and 27W-inch 16:9 monitors that are scheduled to ship in March and April, respectively. The company will also add 17- and 19-inch screen sizes, each including either widescreen or 4:3 configurations.
