SANTA CLARA, CALIF. — SonicBlue, which makes Rio digital audio players and Go-Video dual-deck VCRs and offers ReplayTV personal TV technology, reported sales of $65.1 million in the first quarter, about 22 percent higher that the $49.9 million recorded in the year-ago period.
Quarterly net revenue excluded the majority of ReplayTV revenue. The company reduced its net loss for the three months to $16.6 million, down from a net loss of $335.8 million in the same quarter in 2001.
Relative to existing consensus projections, including all ReplayTV shipments, SonicBlue said it plans to achieve a 2002 revenue of $318 million, compared with a current consensus of $288 million.
