Ricavision Intros Universal Remote For Use With Vista

by Staff -- TWICE, 1/28/2008

Ricavision International used International CES to announce the launch of its VAVE100 Windows SideShow Vista universal remote control.

The VAVE100 comes with Media Center capability and Windows SideShow technology. Users can access their Vista PC Media Center and play music, pictures or recorded TV located on the Windows Media Center computer. The VAVE100 takes the technology a step further by wirelessly distributing digital access to 20 devices through infrared technology. The remote's universal functionality features a built-in database of more than 1,500 worldwide brand names for easy installation using the graphical user interface on the 2.4-inch QVGA color LCD display with 240 by 320 resolution. The VAVE100 has a learning feature, and the remote also allows for easy one-button set-up via a user-definable macro function.

Additionally, the VAVE100 lets the user control their Windows Vista SideShow features remotely using Class 1 Bluetooth technology that allows a range of up to 100 meters. Users can customize their SideShow functions utilizing a number of compatible Gadgets found in their Windows Vista Control Panel or online in the Ricavision.com Gadget Bank, and use the VAVE100 to display information, perform tasks, or interact with software without having to be in front of their Windows Vista computer. Depending on which Gadgets they choose to configure, consumers can have quick access to their music library, picture library, full-body email, stock quotes, weather and can stream live high-quality audio using Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).

The VAVE100 is currently available for pre-sale at www.ricavision.com for $349, and will be available from CE retailers and e-tailers beginning in April.
