HP Introduces Four New DeskJet Printers

Hewlett-Packard added four new printers to its DeskJet lineup, including an entry-level model with a $39 estimated street price.

The line starts with the $39 HP DeskJet 3520. This model has 2,400 by 1,200dpi printing and a three-color ink cartridge. The step-up model is the DeskJet 3650. With a $79 estimated street price, it can print 4 by 6-inch photos and has optional six-ink printing capability.

At $99 is the DeskJet 5150. This printer has 4,800dpi resolution and can print photos up to 8.5 by 11-inches. The flagship printer is the DeskJet 5650. It prints 21 pages per minute (ppm) for text and 12ppm for color. It adds a print quality selector button at an estimated street price is $149.

The 5650, 3650 and 3520 printers will ship this month, with the 5150 following in August.
