P.C. Richard Takes 5 Circuit Stores

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 4/20/2009

P.C. Richard & Son is moving into five former Circuit City storefronts within the New York metro area.

Three of the locations are in Central New Jersey, a fourth store is in New York’s College Point section of Queens, and the fifth, as previously reported in TWICE, is in Norwalk, Conn.

According to a report by the New Jersey-based Home News Tribune and Courier News, the Garden State stores are located in Bricktown, East Brunswick and Eatontown.

“There are new opportunities where we can move into new markets and also get some good real estate,” CEO Gary Richard told the newspapers. “We were stable before the economic crisis, and we still are today.”

The new locations, which will open as early as June, will bring P.C. Richard’s store count to 56. The nation’s largest privately-held CE and appliance chain has also opened a 300,000-square-foot distribution and training center in Carteret, N.J., to support its Garden State expansion.
