Logitech Bows Cordless Optical Mouse

FREMONT, CALIF. — Logitech has introduced Cordless MouseMan Optical, offering both optical precision and cordless freedom.
The mouse has no ball or cable and features a three-month battery life. Its 800 DPI resolution is said to be twice the resolution of current optical sensors.
Cordless MouseMan Optical offers the same shade of deep metallic blue as Logitech's optical Wheel Mouse. It has two brushed steel-effect buttons; a third button, which sits under the thumb; and a scroll wheel, which doubles as a fourth button. All four buttons can be programmed to simplify the control of on-screen information.
The mouse includes MouseWare software and the WebWheel feature that provides instant Internet access at the touch of a button.
Software also includes a low battery-life indicator to inform consumers, in advance, when the battery needs to be changed.
The receiver uses either a USB or a PS/2 interface and is compatible with Windows 3.X, Windows 95 and 98, Windows 2000 and Windows Millennium Edition, as well as Macintosh OS 8.6 or later.
Suggested retail is $69.95 and the product is scheduled to ship in April.
