hhgregg Taking Majap Trade-Ins

INDIANAPOLIS — hhgregg offered customers up to $200 toward the purchase of new Energy Star-certified Frigidaire appliances for a limited time this month with the trade in of their old white goods.
The program, dubbed "hhgreen," was designed to help customers save money by cutting back on water and energy usage, the company said.
The initiative may also have served to stimulate appliance sales during one of the industry's sharpest downturns in recent memory.
Trade-in values were $50 for dishwashers, $100 for washers and top-mount refrigerators and $200 for side-by-side refrigerators with the purchase of a same-category Frigidaire product.
The retailer has also created a Web site at www.hhgreen.org offering conservation tips, recycling programs and other trade-in opportunities.
Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy to encourage manufacturers to make energy-efficient products.
