Dell Expands Studio Line

Round Rock, Texas — Dell is expanding its Studio line with the launch of its Studio desktop and Studio Slim desktop.
The machines were designed to meet consumers’ home entertainment and multimedia needs. They feature standard graphic support for DirectX10 and built-in HDMI ports. Optional Blu-ray Disc players and TV tuners are also available.

Dell said the Studio Desktop features a “traditional mini-tower chassis that makes future upgrades easy,” and the Dell
Tower offers a “sleek, compact design.”
Each model offers standard features including six USB 2.0 ports (two in front, four in back), a built-in 1394a port and Gigabit Ethernet.
The Studio desktop has a standard built-in 16-in-one media card reader; the Slim Desktop is offered with an optional 19-in-one reader.
The Studio has a 350-watt power supply while the Slim has a 250-watt power supply.
Optional features in addition to BD drives and TV tuners include video card upgrades from ATI, 64-bit versions of Windows Vista with support for up to 8GB of system memory, built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, and a wireless keyboard and mouse.
In terms of services and support, Dell offers its DataSafe Online Backup service, its Dell Support Center that can be accessed via a desktop icon, and DellConnect Remote Assistance.
The models have a starting price of $549.
